What does it cost?

In-County Trips (RICE COUNTY): 

​

  • $1.50 per one-way trip in town (City of Lyons)

  • $2.50 per one-way trip out of town (from Lyons)

 

Discount Cards:

 

  • Punch card - $20 / 20 punches at $1.00 per punch

  • Unlimited Punch card - $30 / 1 month unlimited rides in the city that you live in. If you are going to ride outside of the city you live in, i.e., Lyons to Sterling, you need a regular punch card.

County-to-County Trips: 

 

  • $20.00 round trip from Rice County to Hutchinson, Great Bend, McPherson, or a town within the same mileage. 

 

  • $35.00 round trip from Rice County to Wichita, Salina, Hays, or a town within the same mileage. 

​

Who can ride?

 

  • Service is available to the general public (all ages). 

  • Children weighing less than 80 lbs. must be secured in a child safety seat.

  • A parent or guardian must accompany all children under the age of 12.

  • Out of county trips require anyone under 18 years of age to be accompanied by an adult.

Open Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

 

Be ready to provide: 

  1. Name of passenger

  2. Pick-up address (exact location)

  3. Telephone number

  4. Date the ride is needed and the number of stops.

General Public Transportation - all ages. We are a Medicaid transportation provider. Call your insurance provider and request Rice County Council on Aging. Information & Assistance for Rice County residents 60+ with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Part D drug plans, & more. Plus, Light Housekeeping & Attendant Care service. All are available at the Rice County Council on Aging & Quivira Transit, call 620.257.5153.
